Today I read in the news a horrific article about a young girl, who was a year younger than me, dying in a hospital a few weeks after she was gang-raped by crazy men. It is such a tragic event that took place in another country and the way they deal with an incident like that is unbelievable. They do not even acknowledge her death and fail to put those awful savages through harsher punishment.
What causes people to go as far as put an innocent woman through too much suffering like that? Could it be something in our water or our food that makes others think that way and be okay with living their life? I thank the Lord for giving me an opportunity to live today. There are other women as young as me who cannot live peacefully, who are unable to have an education and who must do impossible acts to live a "normal" life. Sometimes we are sad because we become too consumed in this little bubble of trying to live up to others' expectations. Suddenly, a devastating article appears and you realize how great you have it compared to others in different parts of the world. You realize that being alive means so much more than being anything else at all.
